I had a 68 C10 that was originally the same as what yours is. I had mine painted all blue, a light to medium blue almost sky color, it looked great painted like that. Also the holes you have to fill what about the "B" word? I don't like doing that but a little bit of bondo shouldn't hurt too much.
And the flames don't really look good on that truck, its not really that type of vehicle but can be a great sleeper.
Good luck with the truck and post some pictures if you can.

I have a 69 truck also. I filled the holes for the trim around the bottom and left the top molding. I painted it PPG Dahila Blue . I t proably cost me $1500 in paint , primer and supplies.. such as a compressor and running 220V to my garage. Since this was my first paint job I learned a lot. It turned out pretty good but not perfect. Now it's a year later and I have the truck sanded back down and am currently redoing it. I am welding the top trim holes up this go round. If I didn't enjoy learning how to paint, and know this time it will turn out so much better I'd take it to a shop.

And I did see a pink 69 with red flames, it looked pretty cool but remember you have to drive it out in public.
