Try Dupont dp-90. Its priced pretty fair usually, depends a lot on where you buy it, and its looks preety darn nice when sprayed right. Plus it looks damn good on my 53 plym. I wouldnt go as far as stripping your truck, unless the paint is already flaking or oxidized greatly. Id say just rough up your paint with a green pad and make sure its clean before you spray it."its better to rule in hell, than serve in heaven."

Yeah most primer is not a sealer. While DP-90 is a primer/sealer. That means its more like a true paint, just softer and easier to sand.
On the other hand if you just want the flat black look, go for some semi-gloss black 2 part epoxy and add a liberal dose of flattener. Just ask the paint guy, hell know what you need."its better to rule in hell, than serve in heaven."

I just shot my 67 GMC with a suede black from Endura. A really nice flat black is made by Sikkens and is called Rally Black. If you want to go economical, you can get some John deere Blitz Black and shoot it on.

When did Dupont start making Dp-90? Just razzing ya. Now it dplf-90,ppg, can't get the good stuff and put lead in your lungs anymore thanks to your government. You could also use a single stage paint and add a flattening agent.
Thank you Roger. .
