Ive got a running 1951 lincoln cosmopolitan flathead V8.
complete with a 3 speed with overdrive attached and the floor shifter still on it. the motor has everything still on it and in good shape. im flexible on the price $400 lets deal

I know that it looks dirty and oily but im cleaning it now and ill have paint on it soon. It doesnt leak the oil is from the filter and Ive cleaned that up already It would make a great rod motor.
I bought it for a 29 tudor sedan but it gone now so it has to go to.

Wondering if you deleted my post that I put on last night? I asked if you were interested in trades. I have a bunch of GM stuff including a SBC 350 engine. I'm down in Columbus.

You have a kind of a rare motor there. It is a 8EL 337 CI motor that was good for 154 HP and 275 lbs torque. It had the distributor in the back. How much are you asking for it ? Is the block good?

I know the motor is a monster and its all there from carb to pan even the genarator

That motor was also used in the big ford trucks untill the lincoln OHV motor came out

Well I guess I am still not over this. The 337 Lincoln at 850 pounds and 152 H.P. was chosen over the Ardun conversion and you can see from the above site (found by Tech1) that the Ardun H.P. was greater and the engine was certainly lighter than the 337 Lincoln. So I guess the factors were that FoMoCo already had the 337 tooled up, the width was less and of course the Ardun was untested at the time the decision was made. Maybe it was one of those decisions like the one GM made when they realized they could save $4/cyl by not putting steel sleeves in the otherwise neat Vega engine. I guess economics entered in, but as you consider purchase and buildup of a 337 Lincoln would you rather have an Ardun? Of course hindsight is 20/20, but just a frustration to me that Ford did not adopt the Ardun. We have discussed this previously on another thread but I just thought I would get my "what if" going again.
