FS: 403c.i. big block and TH400 Trans
ok the engine is a olds 403c.i. or 6.6L big block... it's been sitting in my garage for some time just collecting dust waiting to be put into a car...
here's some history about this enigne...
It was rebuilt to stock and installed in my 1979 cadillac seville... we got it running and started on the body work, needless to say the car had been taken by rust somthing awful... so we desided to junk the car, but i saved the engine and trans... now i have nothing to put them in and i need the space they are taking up... the engine comes with everything to get it running (power steering pump, A/C compressor, water pump, distributor, etc) it doesn't come with manifolds (or headers) or a carb... bacuse the quadrajet carb i have is no good. the engine will need a new coat of paint... right now it's GM blue... and it needs a little TLC in the "looks" department... but it turns over well and has oil in it...
the engine has been started and ran quite well... the only thing i would do to it is change the intake because it's set up for a quadrajet carb... (which is the stock carb) and no other carb will go on this intake...
now info about this transmission
it's a TH400 Corporate (Buick Oldsmobile Cadillac) Trans... This means that it will NOT fit a regular Chevrolet engine... reasone being is that the starter is on the driverside not the passanger like a chevy. this is the stock trans out of my cadillac nad has about 50-70,000 miles on it...
i am letting this all go for the low low price of $400.00
AND MUST BE PICKED UP
please i need to get rid of this ASAP!Corvette Questions? see me for all your Corvette needs!

Hate to tell you this Trucks, but the 403 is Not a Big block. A 400 however is. The 403 is little more than a bored out 350. As such, you can bolt on heads, crank, intake ect. Check your motor to see if it is a 400 or 403.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

ok... it's the same as a 455... and a 350... they're all the same so i just assumed big block... i consider the 330 to be the small block olds... and the 400... isn't even an olds motor... it's a chevy!
you've just been chevy/ford "brainwashed" way too long...
and it is a 403Corvette Questions? see me for all your Corvette needs!

Sorry trucks, but Im not a chevy man. The olds 400 Big Block was built from 1965-1969. However, in 1968 they decreased the bore size(3.870 I) and increased the stroke. makes for a horriblly undersquare motor. However, the 403 was made from 1977-1979. Large bore (4.351 I) and short stroke. However, suffers from windowed mains and siamesed cylinders. As such, not a very efficent cooling motor, nor is it capable of wihstanding high Rs without some type of lower end enforcement. Oh, and I also dont appreciate the "Brainwashed" comment.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

If you have the motor in a few months, I will probably buy it off you if its not an Insane price. Also, i dont want the t-400. Too heavy for a 403 powered vehicle. Oh Stepside, dont worry about it. But thanksRight engine, Wrong Wheels

well i am sorry... for any rudeness i may have put out...
i wasn't trying to be rude
if you would like to buy the engine just the engine and not the trans i'll knock the price of the engine down to like $300.00
if that's still too much make me an offer... but i would rather get rid of both at the same time...Corvette Questions? see me for all your Corvette needs!
