Chevy six, bellhousing and tranny for sale
A friend of mine is starting on a new project pickup and has for sale the engine, trans, bellhousing, clutch etc. from a '58 chevy pickup. It is complete as taken from the pickup, includes intake and exhaust manifolds, carb, starter, generator, etc. The engine was a running engine when it was removed from the truck. If you are interested, leave me a note here on CHR, or email me at hotrodshop@iw.net. No shipping available unless you want to go truck freight at buyers expense. It's a six cylinder, I believe it would be a 235 CI engine.. Not a chebbie guy, so correct me if I am wrong on the size. Thanks.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

It's a 235 unless someone fiddled with it. They were still using 235s through '62.Jack

chevy six
Thanks Jack. I'm not a chebbie guy so I figured it would be better to ask. I took the valve cover off, the engine is fairly clean but I discovered it does have one broken rocker arm.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Deffinetly looks like a later model 235 which is prefarable as they are preassure oiled rather than splash oilers/ babbit bearing motors like my '51 235 is, think they changed in '55 to compleatly preassure oiled, but the head changed in '53 to a head that took a valve cover that mounts with bolts around the sides rather than the early head, which had 2 bolts in the top like mine. You don't know what you've got til it's gone
