1968 Chevy Camaro Motor
My father's new hot rod just got a new motor. The one we pulled out of it was a 307 from a 1968 Camaro. It even still has the correct heads.
I have started disassembling it with him, to show him how stuff works since he's new to the game, but it will be fore sale when we are done.
The motor lost the two front freeze plugs for some reason. I have been trying to track down the cause, but have found nothing yet, aside from the fact that the freeze plug holes looked kind of rusty, like it wasn't properly sealed with shelac.
Anyway this motor was recently rebuilt. It has all new valvetrain components. It has a Lunati cam. The cylinders were at least honed if not bored. There is no ridge in the cylinder and no scouring marks. The rods still have the rebuild stamps. It even has the old style Edelbrock intake manifold (the one that was the pre-cursor to the Performer). It is a clean little motor that is easily rebuildable with a gasket kit, timing chain set, and freeze plugs.
I'm going to say $600 for the package because of all the nice goodies and the condition of the cylinders. This will not need to spend any time in the machine shop. It will be available after we are done going through it. I will start answering interested parties emails. In the maintime, I will try to get more info on the cam.
The motor is located in Dayton, OH. But may soon be located in Sunbury, OH.
