427 Hi-Riser Heads
I have a pair of Bare 1964 Ford Hi Riser 427 Cylinder Heads. They have been Pressure Checked and have one small repairable crack in each head. One crack is in the Combustion Chamber about an inch or so from the spark plug. One is in an intake runner on the other head. These are Repairable Cracks and are pretty Normal for these heads that saw a lot of Race Time in Stock Car Racing in the sixties, ( NASCAR ) today, and a lot of use in Drag Racing. The methods of repair these days is pretty easy with Braise Welding and Fusion Welding. The Deck Surface of these heads is also a concern to some as they used to get cut a lot to raise the compression for racing. These heads still have a Lot of Thumbprint left as most call it.
These heads sell for $2,500 and more for Repaird Heads Bare. However, there are not many available. I searched Ebay and found None. I preformed a Google Search and only found one company that even listed them as being available and there was about a 6 to 8 week waiting period. The price for those were listed as, $2,500 and up.
I am not asking $2,500 for these heads, I am not asking $2,000 or even $1,800. You can buy these heads for $1,500 for the pair. I have a couple of resources on getting the heads repaired and have not already done so because there are a lot of talented guys out there who can do the repairs themselves and save a little money and who would rather do the repairs themselves because they feel more comfortable in doing it themselves. I will post pictures later and email others if you would like. You can reach me best at, mikesspeedparts@aol.com or by phone, 704-867-7566 home or 704-516-8033 cell. Thanks, Mike.
