Too sad, there is way too many of these ads right now as the economy has all but ruined many small businesses. A friend was in earlier this week and his shop is about to close. He has a cnc cabinet making machine that cost him over 100K, he says he'll be lucky to get 10K for it. I always check a site called 'reliable tools' in california - they have tons of equipment and tooling that is being auctioned and the volume is staggering as many high-tech industries in that area have gone under.

Yeah, the ads are in our KC Craigslist, too, but I figure if you guys/gals want to see them you'll search the one's that are close enough for you to go see the stuff - surely no one's going to buy blind and pay shipping to boot. Times are rough for lots of small shops, for sure.Roger

What did Yogi say? "It's Deja Vu all over again.", wasn't it? Craigslist notice??.
And before you start your reply, Gary, I'm not being disrespectful, arguing, or otherwise poking at you in any way. Just saying we've been down this road once before about "ownership" of threads, and it seems silly to head down it once again.Roger

All it is about is making guys aware of some stuff that because they don't live near by wouldn't know about it.That and knowing some guys on this site have some pretty well developed shops who might want it.
Roger the Deju Vu part of it is all you..................surfing my user name.
I guess I have to remind you the other thread you are speaking of had nothing to do with someone selling anything.
Ya know Roger this isn't my first rodeo on forums like this.I like you know full well when someone is posting a totally off topic subject as what happened here.
You went and ruined a very good intention/thread of me trying to help out the membership here with some economic topic.Nothing at all now or ever to do with ownership of the thread.
Respect is defined as what you have seen me do with your other thread poking me in fact in the title.Me not posting my views.
So once again Roger you have drawn people to this thread for all the wrong reasons.
Respect?? Doubtfully!!.

Gary1 you are aware that anyone can go anywhere on craigslist by chosing a location in the upper right corner. I check things all over the country. I realy thought others could too.Charlie

Sorry Gary, but I must take exception. Your initial post did not make any statement, only posted link to a locality specific CraigsList ad. OJH posted that he had seen many similar equipment sales in his area, and he gave an example of a friend who was taking a bath on a CNC machine. How can that be off topic?? There was no "topic" to the thread, only a link to a fire sale ad on your local CraigsList. My response, to OJH, not to you, pointed out that we can see the very same type of ads in our local KC CraigsList, too; that I can't see that anyone is going to buy used goods without going to look at them; and that it's sad to see so many small operations falling on hard times. You had no topic!! All you did was post a link, and you said nothing about it. Yet you come back with your silly thread ownership approach, think that you can tell other members what is a proper response to one of your threads, and then accuse me of "ruining your thread"?? What a joke. Respect? Respect is earned, just like trust. I'm done.Roger

Gary, this isn't a school yard playground, quit trying to 'blame' someone. I thought Roger's point was very well made.
BTW, you do have a tendency to start some very off topic threads which I personally feel has little to do with Club Hot Rod but I'm not the 'Thread Police' so I simply ignore them.
