Granada or Monarch V-8 4spd Trannie.

Okay, Gentlemen, your mission, if you chose to accept it, is to find me a 4spd Trannie from a 75-78 Ford Granada or Merc monarch with shifter. It's basicially a top loader with 3 standard gears and a 4th Overdrive. They're easy to spot cause the 3rd-4th shift arm is reversed from the standard postion. They take a heck of a beating and keep on ticking. My Srod is going dogmeat (I always knew it would) but I like the gear ratios with the Wide torque band I have in my 390. So please help.

If you have no replies, try David Kee. I've done business with him and know him to be a man of integrity....

Thanks, Techie. I sent them an E-mail this morning and will see what he can do for me. If nothing else, he can probably put the gears in an existing box.

You know, Richard, I sent them E-mail after E-mail asking about this and never got an answer. In fact I kept getting an undeliverable message. Then a week ago I was talking to a fellow Ford Natic here in Anita (Duane Murphy) he owns Murphy Construction Company, and they build bridges, railroad and highway. Anyway, it turns out he has two of these trans and is selling me one for $200.00, plus, I get the whole guts out of the other one, cause all he wants is the case for a TopLoader 4spd that has a broken case. It's so unreal to find something I've been looking for for over two and half years and then find it right here in town.

I got mine from a '70's pickup. Torino's used them too. The pickups had a taller OD than the cars, works great behind the 351W in my '79 Mustang, 3.55 gears, 76 mph at 2600rpm., 152 mph at 5200!
