69 Dodge Dart
A buddy of mine wants to build a muscle car and found himself a 69 Dodge Dart, body is straight but has rust issues. He seems predisposed towards Mopar but has pretty much NO knowledge of cars. I was raised a Ford guy, but fate has assigned me the task of helping my buddy.
The car has a punky little 170 6 right now, so it'll require yanking the drivetrain and upgrading the suspension to handle a 360. I know these cars were offered with V8's so I'm assuming this task will be attainable. So...
1) any suggestions on where to get suspension/brake upgrades?
2) any good sources for sheet metal? I know we'll need fenders, inner fenders/wheelwells, rear quarters? We're not building a show car here, but a runner.
Any help would be appreciated....
thanks, tezz

go to Mancini Racing online for one stop shopping for all your mopar needs as far as suspension and brake upgrades, engines etc.. their prices can't be beat. as far as body stuff and other Dart related stuff, there are numerous sources. About the best for the "A" body Mopars would be Layson's restorations. Go to them online. Next would be to pick up a Year One catalog for Mopar "A" bodies. Lastly, get yourself a copy of Mopar Collector's Guide magazine, their online also if you can't find them. Every vendor that is anybody in the Mopar biz is in there. All this info will get you on the road to a cool Mopar "A" body car........

I had a beauty of a '64 Dodge Dart for a spell....it was sweet....always wanted to upgrade it, but the original slant 6 that was in it was tight and the body was straight as an arrow. It coming from the coast, it also had rust issues...then one day my wife was driving it home and some chick smashed into her....totaled the driver side fender along with the then perfect chrome front bumper....anyways, sorry for the long story....try precisionbrakescompany.com for brake upgrades. they make all kinds of custom brake kits for practically any car....reasonable prices too!
