400 Pontiac Engine
I am looking for a Pontiac 400 out of a late 60's early '70's firebird, gto, or that sort of car. If anyone knows of one that is available response would be greatly appreciated.

The aftermarket is getting so good these days, I can't even find a good reason to crawl around junkyards anymore....check out WWW.ENGINEFACTORY.COM I think they're in the NJ area. Consider a 455-there's no substitute for cubic inches.

just buy a 400 from somebody and stroke it - it's a lot cheaper to buy a 400 than a 455 generally, conditions being equal - there are a lot of kits available online

How much does a complete 1975 400 go for? I don`t know how many miles were on it but it ran when it came out.
