Nothing but a '29-shaped core is gonna look right in there. You might try Hemming's Motor News or ebay.Last edited by techinspector1; 01-17-2006 at 06:26 PM.

Some guys are running circa '64-'66 Mustang V8 radiators, and while not a perfect fit, they are inexpensive (like $ 139.00 Autozone, etc) and with an electric fan cool ok.
Richard is correct, that only one designed for a '29 fits and looks perfect, but for a budget rod (and if you are like me you have a budget) the Mustang unit will work until you can afford a Walker, Brassworks, etc.Don........as long as I have projects to finish I can't die

I dug out a couple of under construction pix showing how he mounted the expanded metal to the radiator, with a metal framework to keep it ridged. Then he slid the shell over the entire thing. He painted it flat black, and it pretty much hides the upper shell.
We may go to a custom made radiator now that the deadline for Daytona has passed, and we have more time. But this one would have been servicable. By the way, go to a 3 row, instead of the common 2 row, and about a 17 inch Spal fan, they move more air than others I have tried.Don........as long as I have projects to finish I can't die

Sizeup,
I'm not sure how they compare in size, but in my 29 Essex coupe I used a radiator from a 1967 Ford Pickup w/240 ci inline 6 cyl.
RADIATOR, 18 3/8 X 18 3/8 CORE Replaces OEM#: C6TA8005AD,C8TA8005BY,C8TA8005CR,D0TA8005AB,D6TA8005ATA
I found a used one and had it recored with a supercooler 3 row core. I also had to trim off the side mounts and fab my own to mount into the shell. I also had the local radiator shop move the filler neck to a more accessible area. Total cost was less than 250 bucks and it look and cools great
I've attached a pic from an online radiator site of the shape of the radiator. The side pieces had to be trimmed.
I have a few pic of my car on my website. www.nucwa.com/page2.htmlhttp://www.nucwa.com/page2.html

I am having a similar issue. I have a 1940 Ford on a Chevy S-10 Chassis w/ a 350 motor that has been on the receiving end of quite a bit of performance work. I was in an accident and don't have a whole lot of cash and need a smaller radiator.
Would that 3-row mustang radiator be able to cool 350-370Hp?
Yeah a stock SBC sure.... but with the extra horsepower?
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
