    I need a chevy rearend....

I have a 10 bolt single track rear end out of a 82 camaro that is tall geared, I believe a 3.23 or taller. I am looking for a lower geared rear end, say in the 356 to 388 range and single track would be all right. I would buy just the pumpkin or buy or trade for another chevy rearend that is lower. Mine has all new everything (except the pumpkin) and would like to stay with the camaro set-up but it's not manditory. I also have a 1405 eddy carb I would through in as trade material.

You have to replace the WHOLE rear axle for the switch-there is no pumpkin.

Cool, that would be the 9" ford then heh? Oh well, anyway I would do that willingly to get the lower gears.

....no there is no punkin, BUT you can just change the internals. I did this in my '84 Camaro. Now it takes some skill to set it up so you might want to have an expert do it. Instead of taking out a punkin & then replacing the internals in the punkin, you just change the internals in the housing while it's in the car....Or, better yet, ask on here r/e; 1. What tools you need 2. Are there instructions on how to do it..... I had it done by a shop. Although years ago I did change the internals in a '59 Plymouth and did nothing as far as set up & it worked just fine. But I'm sure I just got lucky.......

I have the ability to get one re-built but not really wanting to take that job on. Do any of you guys know anything about S-10 rear ends?
