Does anyone have a steering wheel hold down nut for a late 40's Mopar? I had two and cant find either one.

Falcon if you know the size and tpi Fastenal may be able to get a replacement for you . Just received my torque conv. nuts from them for my C4. Misplaced them years ago . May have went on a bicycle axle lol.

i dont ,, but that is a rather important piece of the steering mechanism.. in the mid 80`s i had built a BOSS302 comet and had fabbed a straight axle under the front end and was eager to try out the new engine .. i had gutted the interior as well since it was only to be a drag car .. so i sit myself on a 5 gallon bucket and proceed to the street to do a test run .. i nail the gas and immediately the steering wheel comes off in my hand and my 5 gallon bucket and me go flying to where the back seat once was .. after a very bumpy ride thru a big ditch it finally comes to a stop .. friends who were watching came running after me and had quite the good guffaw at my expense when they saw me smiling and still holding the steering wheel while climbing out of the trunk.. i junked that car quickly ..

I'm glad you weren't hurt but that's funny! BTW, thanks Bobby. I'll give them a try. Seems 2B a weird thread; I cant find anything in the junk nut & bolt cans to fit.
