    3:73 for 16 C10

I need a better top end speed for my 64 C10.

Anyone got a hiway gear? 3:73 or better?

Your 64 should of came with 3:73 you should be able to buy new for under 200 bucks. I have a 64 12 bolt with 3:73 if you must have them used I can pull them.

Leave the rear, swap in a T5 OD.

That was my first thought but if the budget is allowing for only used gears I did not think the money for a better trans would be there. A 700r4 or similar would be the way I would try to do it. You could keep your 3.73 gears and still be comfortable and get better gas mileage and less wear and tear on your engine. I have/had a 64, and 65 c-10 with stock gears and a v-8 upgrade and 350 turbo trans, I was pushing 3000 rpm on the highway You can actually see the gas gauge going lower. It might cost a lot more for the trans upgrade but in the long run you will be happier going that route. If its not in the budget just change the gears for now.

thx for the reply. Haven't actually checked the ratio in the rear yet, just assuming it is a 4:10, cause that is what my supervisor said I probably have.

I actually have a 700R4 but with all the odds and ends, ( Summit racing ) it is gonna cost about 1200 just to install it.. not counting a new drive shaft.

If its in the budget I think it would be worth it.
