i have never seen a iron rec port intake.. all gm i seen were alum .i not saying they never did but if so its very rare.... you could do some work to a iron O port but why??? if you need it to be iron for a class just send out a alum intake and get it metal sprayed with steelLast edited by pat mccarthy; 02-22-2010 at 07:50 PM.

guys spray all types of metal s any shop that builds up shafts and plates etc that are hurt by rust. worn or over machined or to added a better metal on a part for wear .or rust look in the yellow pages under thermal spraying or metallizing i only seen it done one time. not to good to be around when its being put on.but i have had things done they use air a gass and wire that looks like a spray gun that use a electric charge the metal comes out like hot sparks.there is a shop here mi that will do the jobLast edited by pat mccarthy; 02-22-2010 at 08:35 PM.

You don't need to cut it up--just run it--you will just have some terrific anti reversion at the manifold--really helps with big cam, low rpm and too small exhaust

find a set of re worked O ports your never going to seal it up??????????????????? the O port intake is smaller then a stock rec port head less you do some welding on the O port intake and start cutting it out .i could make it work but you would not like the priceLast edited by pat mccarthy; 02-23-2010 at 07:30 PM.

I don't remember exactly which manifold or heads it was but I did do one for a customer about 30 years ago that had the same type issues----it HAD TO BE THIS MANIFOLD---and it works---it probably was off one of the higher hp 396/427 at the time but it was cast iron and oval port

Why does it have to be cast iron ? Can you use an GM aluminum intake.
