30/31 roadster top original WANTED
Hey Guys, looking for a roadster top for a 30 or 31 complete. I have deluxe windshield posts and the car is standard in this area. Now the problem is I live in Australia so would need someone to go to a little effort to package and send. I can pay with PAYPAL if you like. O.K if its your used one or a little beat up.
thanks
Andy.

Gherkin - why a ratty/rusty 85 year old used top? LeBaron Bonney has a set of irons and the wood for not a lot of money. You can even have them cover it though I don't particularly like the OEM design they use. http://www.lebaronbonney.com/index.htm

You also need a bunch of hardware to install as well.
I don't have any available pictures of mine using their irons and bows, but their top parts are great and they will ship internationallyDave W

I here what you are saying Dave. I have been looking at new items and think that the price might sting for a while.. so I am trying the "used" option first to see what turns up.
thanks,

I don't blame you for trying to save those dollars first. For several years I did the same before I finally bit that plastic card and ordered new. What I saw was real junk - all needed wood and most were bent/twisted along with the rust. Where I looked mostly were the two biggest vintage car swap meets in the US - Hershey and Carlisle, PA. along with several other smaller. If I did find a vendor with a set of restorable irons, he thought they were gold and his final retirement option.
The total production run of '30-'31 roadsters was only 118,400 Standard and 64,375 Deluxe. Of those ~183,000 cars, at least 250,000() have been restored - or at lest you would think by looking at the restoration sites
