Hi All , great site here tons of info.





I Need a bbc with a 4.5" bore or close to. I want to build a torque monster. If you have a bare bowtie, dart, or merlin, colecting dust please let me know.

welcome tools. if you want a torque monster you might consider a early 70's caddy. large displacement and torque starting around 525 ft lbs.

well them move like hot cakes and get used up till there is no more left ...only thing laying around is beat up stuff were it cost more to fix then a new block. i was fixing and selling very nice blocks that were used in class racing and had alot of prep work done to them .they had to stay at a small bore when they needed to be bored past the class size they sold them or if they needed a sleeve .i have two donovans i will sell that are not laying around cheap ones a 632 and 735 . you can get 600 Tq with a bbc so i would not jump on a caddy less it almost free .the chevy is a bolt in

Ya you are not kidding they go fast. Thats why I am on the hunt. I dont mind having the block machined as That is vey inexpensive where I am so I hope I can land one.
If anyone heres of one let me know.

sure i have one needs spacers or the mains sprayed the bore as at 4.625 could clean up at 4.630 or just re sleeve the block done them that will get you back to 4.500 .its a 10.200 dart big m block . it s was a customers i told him i find him a better block .i fixed blocks like this but my time and cost of sleeves has gone up. someone did a bad line bore on it there is two way s to fix it .spray weld the main s up shop here sprays metal they can do it they say it machines very good or make spacers .i have had all of the blocks it one time and fix all of them. Merlin II.and III.Dart Big M s. Bowties and CNC blocks . World Pro blocks .i may get some hard to say when if i do its a sleeve or two but thats about it and i machine and sell them fixed

I have a Bowtie blk 4.500 bore will need to be 4.530
also have a new set of JE pistons and new Callies 4.250 stroke Crank
