    More Info...

Exactly what kind of hood ornament are you looking for, and what price do you think is reasonable...

Maybe if you give some clearer guidelines, someone here might be able to steer you in the right direction...

I would like to have a custom polar bear hood ornament to replace my current one. I would like to keep the material to aluminum for obvious reasons and would like to pay no more than about $250 for it. Any ideas??

Making a mold and casting it could easily cost over $1000.
A good sculptor would need more than $250 to carve one out of a block of aluminum.
I Would try to find something in a souvineer shop that can be mounted on the hood.
    or
Buy a Mack truck bulldog and a set of miniature files and a die grinder and have at it.

Thanks for the ideas..... I have a custom pair of polar bears that my dad sand cast for the truck orginally and it turned out okay but not with the detail we were hoping for. I will try to include a photo of it. Hmmm........ obviously can't get it to do it in this format. Bummer

try changing it to a jpg. pic and use " attach file" at the bottom of the "post reply" page, not "IMG" ...
or send it to me and I'll post it....

And this is all I found when I was checking on your question...

Finally I think I have found out how to attach this file.... only after pulling my hair out. The trucks name is Happy Bear so my dad made a sand cast of a porcelian figure given to him and this is what we came up with.

    Thanks for the site info.
