9Parking Brake parts for 9" Ford
Parking Brake parts for 9" Ford
I need all the parking brake pieces for an 9" Ford rear end with 11 x 1 3/4 brake shoes. Need levers, spreader bars, springs, clips and cables. Any or all. My unknown origin rear end has all these pieces missing and I want to reconstruct a parking brake.
if i cant find them here.
does anyone have an idea what those part no's might be?a hot rod is whatever i decide it is.

Some of those parts are getting hard to find for the drum brake rear ends, Dorman doesn't offer everything needed, I've looked there. There are a couple of levers I need for my 9" and so far Currie is the only source I've found and they are about $49 for the pair, here's a link. If you get lucky and find a source, please let me know too.

I can't find anything thru NAPA or Advance,no listings for e brake stuff. I did see some of it using Google here,Ford Thunderbird Brake System - MAC's Antique Auto Parts

If you can get a year/model reference to a Ford Truck you might try LMC Truck in Lenexa, KS. They list many of the parts/pieces for both drum & disc rears, but they are by the range of model years that had common parts. I thought I might have parts of an old 8" in the storage garage, but I don't!!!! Sorry Pat, somebody must have got to the brakes and backing plates first!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I have a 74 f100, all the pieces are there, I do not have the measurement on the drums though. I'll try to check tomorrow.

i have every thing and new drums F150 1979 stuff was on the back of GTO not many miles on the stuff but sitting time one of the wheel cylinders needs a rebuild or buy a new one there not much. all parts that could be were new hard ware.drums. backer plates were blasted and clean . drums new at one time may need to just be cleaned with some 180 sand paper and wash drums drill for 4.3/4 chevy and still have the ford bolt pattren to i will sell it cheap shipping may cost abit??Last edited by pat mccarthy; 06-05-2012 at 08:38 PM.
