    i'm starting work on my "wifes" car. thought i'd start looking now for this part; i need the pass side door pontoon,with ribbs.and i also think i have the wrong hood,will make sure soon.thanks in advance for any help.
    she thinks it's her car

    I think you can use parts from 42 to 48 as the basic bodies are the same and what makes you think you have the wrong hood,I had a 47 10 years ago and the hood had a wide chrome piece that went the length.

    the hood is suppose to have a half moon at the front where the indian head on the grill meets the front of the hood, mine is flat across like a chevy. the crome center strip on the hood has this half moon shape.

    Did yours have a six or a eight,I dont know if there the same but a local junkyard has a 47 with a six and a 48 with a eight.
