While not exactly a build pic, this one almost made me smile ( I really couldn't get mad)...
Went to a Studebaker meet 280 miles from home.. Purred on down there. Had a great time. Even brought the wife <g>.. Anywhoo.. Drove 272 miles back home...Am cruising at 75 mph about 1 mile from my exit on Interstate 75... The engine shuts off... Put 'er in neutral and coasted into a conveniently placed truck weigh station. Coasted bast the scales and the scale house and parked next to the soda machine (good luck, or what? <g>.. Popped the cap off and lo and behold.. 'Chunks-o-rotor' all over. No spare in tool box, This one was in there for over two years. No cap interference.. It just let go. I think the terminal out by the cap got hot enough to bend and it contacted the inside of the cap. But the cap had no marks and no damage. Hmmm. Called the eldest kid and had her grab a $3 rotor from the flaps and run it over to us. Total downtime..About an hour, with cold drinks. Talk about lucky... Am sticking a new rotor in the toolbox, and I'll guarantdamntee you I'll probably never ever use it.... (but, just in case.... <g>
