question about a 30's rat rod
i was thinking about slapping a rat rod togather... trying to keep a real low budget. ive been looking at a 28-32 style ford or chevy sedan like this one here http://www.miklm.com/img/tmp/cars/sema/09.jpg how much would it cost to build something like this? note im not going to buy brand new best of everything parts... a rat rod is ment to be old and barley legal. i live on long island in new york and ive seen some rat rods that are pretty sweet. i would love to have one to drive to shows and whatnot. so how much would it be for a decent one... mabe with an old motor and everything.1946 chevy p/u parts for sale p.m me

Well, don't make it barely legal, make it 100% safe and drivable and able to stop, think about the minivan full of kids ahead of you that slams on the brakes. also, don't take pic links off of a site that dosn't allow hotlinking, save them then upload. I was able to get the pic for ya.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Somebody just doesn't get it....................It's not the crappiness.............it's the safety. I drive a crappy old Blazer everyday...............it's rusty and looks bad, but it's safe...........Brakes work good, mechaniclly, everything works.

It's not about shinny, It's about safety. I don't mind rat rods if they are built safe. Some are I am sure. Barely legal is not a real good build plan."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.
