cool, guess it just looked bigger sitting on the big frame. might pull a Ford 302/ 5spd out of a truck, $85 for a transmission, $140 for an engine, usable steel is by the pound. I 'could' also hack up a full size Ford truck frame ( up to '96 for the twin I beam ) shorten it, narrow it as need be, and actully build the entire truck from that junkyard. use the rear end from somthing narrow enough, like a Ford Explorer. use the Twin I beam, from the donor frame ( like what Cboy on www.hotrodders.com did ), or there is a '55 Dodge 1/2 ton there, I belive it could lend it's str8 axle and springs. bench seat from somthing that measures out good, steering colum from a 70's Chevy van which there are a few of. gas pedal and linkage from somthing that will work, under floor brake pedal/ clutch pedal from a '49 Chevy car... ooh, I can just see it in my head. of course I would have to buy 1 of there " I Pulled it at Gary's " bumper stickers, for the rear window or somewhere, because it literally would be. of course I would rebuild the engine/ trans and any thing else that would need rebuilt/ replaced. getting it registered in Ny is no big deal. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

yeah, I know. I'm going back out as soon as I can. shoulda picked up the doors when I was there, could of got them home, and would have saved $20 as part of there weekend sale for the weekend was doors $19.99, rather than $29.99. if it's not there, the '55 Dodge probably will still be there, that has a solid cab also. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

You don't want to wait to long as there inventory changes fast. Gary's is a great place was down there couple weeks ago and got a 360 Dodge to rebuild for my hot rod. I saw the Dodge it did look like a good cab didn't see the Ford but I didn't go in that part of the yard. I'm trying to convice my wife I need a another IH. Found one locally that is in real good shape 1950 one ton runs. We might even be able to work out a trade so it's not like I am spending any money. Would restore this one after I finish my hot rod. The cab on my 41 IH is off a two ton truck and is the same as a half ton the only difference is the wheel well openings are bigger on the two ton.

yeah, I heard about Gary's invintory changing fast. the '39 Ford was sitting right next to the road ( last truck in the line ), in 1 of the lines of ford trucks, right below the prosessing centerYou don't know what you've got til it's gone

yeah, I'm hoping I can get out quick enough to snatch it up. getting it in the bed of a 1/2 ton pickup shouldn't be a problem, I hope... if I can't get the '39 ford or '55 dodge, I ~may~ try and find an old freightliner, peterbuilt, mack ( or whatever other company I'm missing ) cab, and build a big rig hotrod. cab gutted of it's huge useless dash, simple dash installed. chopped, channled over a custom frame, dually rear axle from a 1 ton duallie truck, custom built spring over front end ( wide enough ) factory grill shell, chopped and painted to match. 7.3 Powerstroke V8 from a Ford pickup, matching manual trans. custom built wide fendered ( big enough to cover the duallies ) step side bed, ooh, it's an Idea I got looking at a day cab peterbuilt, thinking about how it could 'work' and look goodYou don't know what you've got til it's gone
