    Cool International/Ford

Thought I should share some pic's of my rod. Title says 1948 Ford PU. Cab is 50 International/48 Ford/66 Chevy PU/& Sears Washing Machine. Frame is 2 X 3 Box, 6 inch kickup in front, 13 inch in rear. Narrowed 60 Ford I beam front axel, S10 Rear end with 3:42 Locker. Engine is 65 327, Crane cam, 202 Valve open chamber heads. Edlebrock intake with gutted 6V Supercharger as carb spacer, running twin Rochester 2G's on vintage speed adaptor. 32 Grill shell, Model 66 Oliver tractor radiator (modified). Turbo 350 trans with stall converter. I guess that covers the basics. I built, manufactured, or modified every piece on it myself. Can't afford much. So far I have just shy of $4500 in it, and I saved and counted every nut bolt, welding wire and so on. Alot is repurposed junk, air compressor tank for gas tank and taillight buckets. Gimmie fabric for interior. Carpet removed from office building. Scrap steel laying around. Mostly alot of scrounging.

Thanks for posting those pic's! I really like your little truck and you have done a good job with it. The bobber trucks are one of the really cool things to have come along recently or maybe revived recently and yours is a fine example. Thanks again

Thanks for compliment. Funny my "new" truck is a Chevy 1966 C10 Fleetside Longbed. Although Mine might be a little different. 54 Olds Dash, Toothed Grill made from 3 1951 Ford F1 Grills. Steel wheels, with baby moons. Lowered and so on. Need to take some newer pics of it. But some clod who can't park his big dog ram ran over drivers fender and just about completley tore drivers bumper off. Oh I split front bumper.

Thanks. Ohhhhhhh Sweeeeeeeet. You have my second favorite car the 55 Chev. should have never sold the second one. Was flat black, 396, 4 speed, and no front bumper. I really like that look. Maybe it was the gassers like the model Bad Man. Definately cool though.

Oh one more thing. Have you considered a chrome spreader bar between the front frame horns. I had one chromed, but sold the car before I got it back from chrome shop. Had that bar for 22 years till my shop in North Carolina burned. Bummer.

Yeah, I think of it as a hot rod, but I get so many call it a rat rod. Maybe it's kinda inbetween. It's a Deuce NOT. It was as close to as I could get with money and what I had on hand. Oh well. Thanks for the compliment. It's no where near perfect. But you can only do the best you can with the skill you have and what you have to work with.

I think you have done real well with scrounging and piecing together a kool truck...its what its all about, building something for you,and enjoying it..I like it enough to consider one similar,so long as I can deliver my glass bodies on the back...as I do with the F100 shop truck.
I hope ya drive the wheels off it..

I love it & wished I had my other project done & had the extra $$$ to put one together myself.
I love how the term of low buck beater trucks/cars have turned into what so many now called (I'm going to be ) a "ratrod".
Cause there is nothing "ratty" about that truck.
The person who started that term should be slapped...joe
