I assume it is the same as my 37 LaSalle. It should just have a square end that slides into the door hardware. I have several extra handles because somewhere along the way the ends got broken at the hole where the set screw goes in . This may be a stupid question, but did you get the set screw all the way out of the door? I only asked beause I have wrestled with those as well. Unfortunately, my best advice would be: penetrating oil, time, a little jiggling, followed by brute force.

I did figure it out today. There is only that set screw. I applied a little heat after acouple of hours of WD and what not, and it came apart. Did two of them that way. Thanks again for the help with this issue.

Your car looks pretty kool 2many2count. I'm along ways from where your at on my project. I have every part off of my car. I even have the body chopped into 3 pieces. Working on the control arms now. I do what I can in this 15 below zero until spring arrives. No priming until the blasting starts. Still trying to figure out what I'm going to use for a motor, guages, wiring and whatnot. I want to go with fuel injection this time. My GTO is all souped up, so it's like I don't need this to be a hot hotrod like that is. Thanks again for the pictures. Every picture tells a story like RS said.

What are the results if I was to cut off a coil on the front springs? It's a typical 69 GM frame off of a 69 GTO. Is it going to change the steering?

1937 042.jpg12-09 037.jpg1937 042.jpgOk, so I'm alittle slow at this. It's been awhile since I posted about this car. When you are changing every part it takes awhile. Not to many mistakes so far. Well, none so far. Maybe because I don't see them yet. The body is in three parts (still). But I'm trying to do it right. Trying to figure out the rear end. Whether to put a 12 bolt in it or the 10 bolt from the gto in it and put the 12 bolt in the gto. So far I've cut up a 69 chevelle frame and welded the front and rear frame onto the 37. The cost is diffently there but the satisfaction is there as much.
My question is about the rear end. Does it make better sense to do that to the gto or the 37? I have a 1971 455 in the gto, so it's not original. But I do like the fact about the rear end being stronger. KB pistons, mild cam, 750 edelbrock carb.
My mind isn't all there right now. I have some sad news. Last Friday we went to Dallas to bury our 7 year old grandson. Sad deal. A rare disease. Neimann's pick. I'm just trying to get back to the real world.
Let me see if I can post a picture of where I'm at with the car.

I have a question about the fuel line. Hopeing someone can help. I have a 3/8th's aluminum fuel line that I have run so far. I don't really trust it due to it being aluminum. Can I run a smaller stainless line? Will 5/16th's be enough?
Thanks in advance.
