Fuel level seding unit
All, I am looking for some information on a fuel sending unit. I currently have a 1976 Mazda fuel tank in my street rod and need the specs on sending unit resistance. (expected ohms at full and empty) Can anyone help....

The fuel guage I plan to use is a after market AutoMeter.
I believe the current range to be between 10 ohms full and 75 ohms empty using the stock sending unit on this 12 volt system.
What I am looking for is verification of the factory specifications for this unit. If my measurement are correct and the sending unit is operating correctly I should be able to use a early model Ford or Chrysler unit with a typical range of 10-73 ohms.
Thanks for your help,,,jc

this is the autometer tech tips for fuel gauges. Once you figure out what range your sender is operating at, you can choose the correct fuel gauge. Also, there are the inductive senders that
have no moving parts and have the ability to be trimmed (adjusted). The source for these is Centroid Products in FL.....

We have used a couple of these and they are easy to install in a custom tank or fuel cell since they use a flat mounting flange and gasket.
