mig welders???
A few of you E-mailed me on mig welders. I am not the professor at this. But let's see if I can shed some light. There is some talk about 110/220 welders pulse welding ect.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will try to keep this simple. What are you welding? how often do you need it?
The 110 machines are ok for small stuff. Taking that one step further. What type of material are you welding? steel, stainless, aluminum. Thickness and amount of penetration that you need.
Are you using a gas for shielding or non-gas.
Now not confusing any one Using a gas type first. most people use 75/25 = 75% argon and 25% co2. There are several different types of gas out there for steel we are talking about.
With the gas type you use the gas as a shielding for the metal to keep out the atmosphere around the heat effected zone. You can weld thin 1/32" to 5/32" with ease. LET'S not worry about penetration for now.
Fairly easy to do on flat and verticle down if the heat and wire speed are set right.
Good all around machine for small projects. I know using heat can increase the thickness. Let's keep this simple for now.
There is a duty cycle which runs on a 10 minute inntervolts % of ten minuts most of theses small machines are 20 % or 30% duty cycle. They shut down for heat reasons st the 20% or 30% times to allow for cooling.
Now if you use non gas wire innershield. It has a harder time welding small items as 1/32". BUT can preform this task.
One reason why is the size of wire shielding wire can purchases in .023 as the smallest. Innershield wire smallest is .030. I know there is little difference in the wire size. the heat that it tales to weld is difference in both.
solid wire 75/25 is ran at reverse polerity.
innershield wire is ran at strait polarity.
I will finish latet TIME HAS STRUCK ME GETTING LATE WILL FINISH LATER.
