What master cyl. to use with S10 rearend and 40 Ford front drums
I am running drum brakes front and rear with an under floor style non power master cylinder on the roadster pickup. My master cylinder bracket will accept either Ford or Chev master cylinders. I have a single reservoir chev master cylinder that I was given by a friend, but rather than rebuild it I believe I will go to the parts store and buy a rebuilt or new dual reservoir unit. Since I am not running discs on either end of the car, and pretty well all new cars/trucks have discs or disc/drum combinations, I am not sure what year and bore diameter to look for.---can anyone help?Old guy hot rodder

Not sure about the brakes but...
How well does the S10 rear fit your model a? I was thinking about running the same set up, but wasn't sure if they fit, and if they could handle a bigger engine.... Did you use the same leaf spring configuration?

The S10 rearend with 7" wide stock Chev rims is a perfect fit. I did not use the leaf springs , but did modify the existing spring mounts on the axle to accept coil cups and 4 bar mounting points (see attached picture) I don't know how this rearend will stand up to a Chevy smallblock, cause I haven't finished my car yet.Old guy hot rodder

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
