I can't really tell how much has gotten ate away by the rust, but you have about 3 choices here.

    1. Try to cut out the bad spots then weld new sheet metal in ware you need. Along with forming a new lip on the front edge.

    2. Find another SS in a junk yard and cut the dash out of it.

    3. Have a fabication shop build you a brand new dash panel.

Number two would be the best way to go, if you can find one.
There is really no easy solution, good luck.

I'm not trying to put down your ride ........
people smarter then me have told me I have a bad habit of getting a sentimental attachment to some of the stuff I play with.....

but there is a 4th option : ........ find something much better to start with .

just like I said not trying to put you down, just a thought .
how much time do you have in on this , is this the car you want?
"some time, some money up front saves a lot of head ach later ."

    just a thought

if I can help ya in any way I will ........
do a search here at CHR before you ask anything & learn as much as you can about body work on the net ( http://www.autobody101.com/ < it'll give ya an idea to start with )
and as my buddy Pat likes to preach : " check out your local schools and see what classes they offer " welding, bodywork, whatever your looking to do .
and start tearing stuff up ........ it's the long way-round but it's cheap, and most of the time fun if your not in a hurry to finish .......

sound like to me you need to get the measurement from that window frame from somewhere ? ...... and then get your self some "tools" and make it . or like vara4 said find a junker and cut it out ...........

hi jd thats not the end of the world . i would go drill out another dash from a donor and mig weld it back inits not like its a steering part. i just got done with a mustang where the cowl had to be drilled out to weld in new cowl patch panels, and the old cowl panel was straightened and mig welded back in. hope this helps Ives rdhotfrd
