I've always used the H pipe setup before the mufflers. It does balance pressure from side to side, and helps flow for low end torgue.Mike

I know I didn't start this thread but I sure apperciate the info. When I get back on my truck I think I will go with the H configuration. Sure couldn't hurt.
One more thing though, which is better, glass packs or mufflers(ex.Flowmasters)?
I have 18" glass packs on 2 1/2 pipes, with small tube headers. I was thinking of going with a larger diameter header though. It ain't broke if you can fix it.

What is on there now is much quieter than the 2" straights, no mufflers, no glass packs.Just headers and pipes, man that sucker was too loud. Kept getting pulled over for it. I can say that there is a noticeable difference between 2" and 2 1/2". It doesn't pop when I let off the throttle anymore. The glasspacks have that old school sound I like better. Like Mike says Flowmasters too expensive. It ain't broke if you can fix it.

On my 76 Corvette I placed them on the left inner fenderwell, made for a short access to the alternator.
