generator replacement
I want to replace my old generator on my 59 Ford Ranchero with an alternator and want to know if I mount a one wire alternator can I just hook it to the minus side of my ammeter guage , this should complete the curcuit. Can someone out there tell me for sure ?Bullet99

a guy on a previous thread had a problem with his alt. on his ford and had did about everything that he could and hadnt fixed it, so i sugggested putting a one wire alt on and be done with it. the replys i got, you would have thought i had killed somebody but i see im not the only one here dont have to do what every body does. whats so funny about it though is i was told it was absurd to put a one wire alt. on a ford and that came from a guy that belongs to a club with 9000 fords in it with V8 chev. motors in them.Mike
