4X4 considerations adding power
I have a 2001 Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 LS1. 50,000 miles. 3 inch suspension lift. I've been reading about all kinds of power adders for these lately. Joe Gibbs blown Silverado. Tom Henry Racing puts out a few blown models that retain factory warranties. My question is what are some things to consider when making power in 4X4 models? If in normal "two wheel high" drive is there any added wear or danger to the transfer case, front diff and hubs? There are many muscle trucks out there but has anyone built or checked out any that were 4X4s? I do tow small boats and trailers fairly regularly and haul stuff in the bed weekly. I'm not looking to go drag racing with it but for a couple thousand I can add some serious power but should I?
