    trak loc diff.???

I have a trakloc 9" ford rear. I thought with posi differentials
if you turned one wheel by hand the other wheel would turn in the opposite direction?
I had the yoke blocked up yesterday and tried turning one wheel to see if the other would turn opposite and I couldn't get anything to budge.
Am I wrong about this theory????

What do you mean.....you couldnt get anything to budge??
Did you have it in gear,,,or was the emergency brake on??
Or maybee the rear brakes are adjusted up to tight.

first I left the yoke free to turn. then, when I turned on wheel by hand, the other would turn in the same direction and the yoke would also rotate.
I thought that if the yoke was locked (like if you had a fully assembled car and jacked up the back wheels) and you turned one wheel the other would turn opposite.
I know if I have the back of my jeep lifted up and I rotate one wheel by hand the other will turn opposite. In this case the car is in park and the driveshaft cannot move.

sounds like its working fine, but try it again, but this time you dont wont to block the yoke up. put the trans in neutral, jack the car up with both wheels fee and turn one of the wheels, if its posi both should turn the same way. if they turn the opposite way then you posi is not working.

the jeep dont have a posi-trac then.

    oh,
well, when the yoke is free and tranny in neutral both wheels do spin the same way.
I thought I read somewhere that a posi should go opposite when the drive shaft is locked.
    ok, thanks
