Here's a picture of an early 20s dash cluster. Wait that's not a cluster. There's only one gauge. Temp was optional on the radiator cap. There was no gas gauge. They used the splash oiling system so there's no oil pressure gauge. That's either an amp gauge or a speedometer.
    What's plan B?
How about adding a bare skin rug?

why not as for the dash cluster i changed my mind i am going to use one out of a ww2 fighter but with diferent guages sorry about my spelling i spent more time in a garage than a classroom as for why i want to do something that is compleatly insaine and not your tipical run of the mill street rod plus it gives people somthing to talk about

The few remaining WW2 fighters belong to millionaires and museums who won't sell any spare parts they might have unless you're restoring a plane. You'll have to build a replica.

How do you plan to keep the bare metal from becoming a rustbucket? Bare metal just means it's not finished yet or you can't paint or can't afford a good paint job.

An awesome paint job is what it takes to win trophies. Winning car shows may not be that important to you but it's the only way to know if you pulled off something special.

Not many people can chop a top without using filler. Probably less than 10 people in the world. If you leave it unfinished people will be talking about how bad it looks and I don't think that's what you want to hear when you try to show off. Any well done rod will give people something to talk about. It's better if they have good things to say.

The Dodge Dakota is a nice looking truck but there's way to many radical small trucks to get you noticed.

If you really want to be different do something radical with the VW pickup. Maybe like a blown Hemi in the bed. Chopped top, rear wing and flames. To be appriciated by the younger crowd you can use the extra space in the crew cab for an asskikin sound system.

You said you wanted feedback and so far we haven't heard anything positive from anyone that would encourage you to follow through on your plans. It's better to be criticized now than ridiculed after doing all that work.

You'd better off contacting MTV and trying to get it on Pimp my Ride. I've seen them do some pretty impressive things with some real POS's.

i thaught about the whole filler idea what i am thinking to do is reskin the roof and cab and welding it with the factory seams i am also going for the beater rat rod look on it so weld lines are not what i am woried about i want that beat up look because it is mainly a shop sleeper as for the metal i am going to clear coat everything so i guess tecnicly its not bare metal but there just wont be any coler to it and the cluster i figure if i cant find one i will make one and as for my crew cab vw its already got a monster system i am selling it soon because as soon as the truck is to a point were i want it i am starting on a custom barn door panel bus i am going to be widening the doors four inch. and fabricating a custom slide out tilt rack for my dirt bike i am going to C notch and bag the bus and eather do bags or hidrolics on the rack to tilt it to the ground for unloading and loading

rock on wit your bad self

I guess what I dont understand is why your looking for feedback on something your so intent on daring to be different with.

Just do it, and then let the others have their opinions - good or bad

lets see the pics posted afterwards though
