Angry 87 Monte Carlo w/ 350 Turbo tranny

I have an 87 Monte Carlo SS. Originally it came stock with a 200r4. I am putting a small block 350 in it with a 350 Turbo tranny. I've been told the transmission mounts are not in the same spot, therefore I had to buy a different crossmember. I ordered the G-Body crossmember offered by Jegs that is a stock replacement for 78-87 GM G Body with a 350 Turbo. After trying to install the crossmember, it will not fit. The bolt holes do not line up and it doesn't sit square or level. I have called Jegs back and they keep saying that it should work. They are already mailed me a 2nd one and this one also does not line up correctly.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know if there is a difference in the years of Monte Carlos frames?

I've never put one in that yr. Monte Carlo, but the holes are probably not drilled for the new cross member. bolt the cross member to the trans. and where ever it ends up on the chassis then drill your holes in the chassis and bolt it down. probably didn't need a new cross member.

Odd. 87 Monte SS went from 200R4 to T350 to powerglide. Used the same crossmember throughout (pics at my cardomain site).

Don't know why yours is a problem.
