Try as I may. things still go bad

I mod my truck because I want it to last. but that has not worked yet.

engine. wore out 2 engines. trying to get a third in the truck.

rear end. the gears cracked/chiped differential wreaked. so in went an eaton posi and 3.73 rear gears.

exhuats was old. so in went dual 2.5" flowmasters full custom exhuast system.

paint job. truck was in crash. lots of new parts. got it painted. crappy paint job done by so called pros. within a year it was rusting. truck needs another paint job this spring.

tranny. one tranny went. swaped it with a used tranny. it lasted 5-6 months. got it rebuilt. lots of $$$$ later. the tranny is good still.

tires.....one full set per year. hey thats happens to every body.

4 sets of header gaskets, 3 sets collector gaskets.

the clutch fan sucked. so I got a flex fan. It broke so I got a solid steel fan, and now I have an electric fan.

    the shocks are wore out.

    It averages 11mpg.

    Plus Insurance Is $2600/yr.
    had a rebuilt 355SB chevy
    it lasted 42,000km
    Got another rebuilt 355SB
    it lasted 62km.
I still have not had a powerful engine.

Isn't the correct name for that "A good run of bad luck"?

Hot rodding and racing is fun ain't it?

I'll share some pain with you.

Built an 8000 rpm 327. Baaaaaad-ass right? Well, wanted to move the power curve a little further up. Retarded the cam timing 4 degs. Got everything installed and ready just in time for Super Chevy (Gainesville, Nov. 04). Motor made 9 passes. 1st round, won the round, locked up the motor in the lights. Exhaust valve marks on all 8 cylinders. Broke #5 exhaust valve at 7500 rpm's. Didn't re-measure piston to valve clearance.

Ain't planning on changing hobbies anytime soon. Got a feeling you ain't either.

    Good luck with the truck.
