A lot of people are using S-10 frames and modifying the back end of them to narrow them down. And then parts for the s-10 frames are all over the place. I have never done it myself but tons of people do it to those style trucks and many other ones.

Shawn, what IS a S15 anyways? Is that just an extended cab version or what? Sorry if that's a dumb question. Anyways for the year a lot of people use anywhere from around I think it's 87 and all the way up to 90 and just buy the whole truck and use things like the seats, some times the bed, the frame, wheels, etc if you wan't to get out the cheap way and be on the road. I don't know if you can use a later frame but I am guessing so but I see a lot of people buying late 80s ones because they are cheaper and just buy the entire truck.

So do they usually use whatever engine came with the s-10 or s-15 or do they go bigger? Will the GMC body pretty much bolt right down to the new chassis or is there a lot of modification work to be done?Any other things I need to take into consideration? Thanks for everyone's help so far. JO BO

Like I said, I have not done this but people told me that what they had to do is just relocated the body mounts and that was about it. I think the back part of the frame is a little wide but that can be stepped in easily. If I were you thought and the original frame is still good I would box it all in, paint it up and throw a IFS suspension on it or leave it with a dropped axle (which is what I like better on an old truck).
