Oil pressure problem
I have a 1966 327 engine that I have totally rebuilt! I am now haveing problems with oil pressure. I have taken it all down again and again checked all journals and everything else I can think of and still a problem. I get 17 pnds. at 2300 rpm and thats not good. I am wondering if it may be in the oil pressure release valve or that area. And can I remove the release valve without causing any problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This may sound strange gary, but did you use the factory oil pump when you rebuilt the motor? If so, change it.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

No I have a 72 pnd High volume pump new filter screen and everything else is brand new. I thought of that and changed it twice.

Doid you replace the cam bearings. How about faulty gauge or sender if it is electric..One of the galley plugs didn't come out did itKen

All the cam bearings are new and as far as i can tell none of the galley plugs came out.(the galley plugs are the ones at the rear of the engine?) If those are the plugs you are refering to then no they are all there all 3.

There are supposed to be galley plugs in the front also I have the hole but they are not threaded they are just open holes. If ther are supposed to be plugs there then that is my problem. but as i said they are not threaded. Please let me know.

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
