Get a reducer\ inlarger and use a 2" Thrush Turbo, I bought 1 for my '67 Ford Falcon with a 200 I6 but, I have yet to get the old stuff out as I have to replace the tailpipe also, the muffler is just for fun, the stock is fine and leak free but, it's too weedy. Those Ford 2.9 V6's are nice strong engines that run forever but, they don't exzactly have a nice sound, the turbo might dress it up a little though. My brother had a '90 Ranger with the 2.9 and an A4LD automatic, he cooked the trans ( used the wrong trans fluid in it, then took it right out off roading afterwords, reverse never worked again ) I was thinking about buying the engine as it ran great for a project but, finding the trans for it would be expensive so, I didn't buy it.You don't know what you've got til it's gone
