Most manufacturers of the time stamped the frame with the number. Unsured if Chevrolet did or not, but Ford did. Late twenties Chevy trucks had a metal plate affixed to the driver side seat riser. Unsure if Chevrolet did this with the cars too or for how long.---Tom

Aint Google Great? www.google.com
"your serial number should start with either "CA" or "CC". It is in the same place as on the '32 models. Serial numbers on closed cars were on the right body sill under floor mat. Serial numbers on open cars were on the right side of the seat frame. (Note: The '32 model VIN started with "BA")"

Hello
I found the plate on the passenger sill, however there are no visible numbers . Are the numbers on the underside of the plate?
Thank You Greg

older GM plates were aluminum, I think.
the numbers were raised (stamped from the back)
can you take a magnifying glass and see if it has been
stomped flat? Or maybe, they were painted??
How is it attached? rivets?

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
