Hello I'm new to these boards as also new to hot rods.

I just recently bought a 49 Chrysler New Yorker Coupe. It has a standard straight eight in there with a fluid drive. My shop has given me a bunch of crap for getting this car since it is a Chrysler and not many people like workin on them. I on the other hand think its a prime beauty.

My question out of all that is that of a swap. How much work would I have to do to put in a CSB with a 350 turbo tranny in there? The guy who I work with said I would probably have to replace the rear dif since the added hp might mess it up. That and he also said that I might want to get a new front end. I dont know why I would need a new front end, it looked in really good shape ( since its been stored for 25 years and has hardly been touched). Is the reason why I might need to replace the front end for better handling and ease of work? Thanks for any info anyone can provide.
