t bucket radiator
ok i am going to try this again.
does a open engine compt rod run a lot cooler than a closed engine compt ??
reason why i got my 500 caddy motor and got in in my frame. i kept the edorado rad as its next to new but its huge, 3 core monster 35 in wide 21 high.
would i be able to go to a smaller rad and still keep this thing cool as i am running the engine in a smallish t bucket as opposed to the lead ingot it was in .
has anyone used one of the industrial 5 or 6 core rads that one can get built . they have a wide spaced cores and wide heavy brass fins and bolted tanks ?

It would seem one of the aluminum radiators made for a T would handle the cooling. I put aluminum radiators in most everything now. They look good, and kewl great.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

i agree dave they are really nice and should keep things cool but just like anything they cost $$$$$
and here that darned exchange, broker fees freigth etc kick the price up so much.
i looked at one of these hd industrial rads look kinda cool approx 6 in thick core and whatever size not cheap either. i'll figure out something. i was even kicking around tilting the eldo rad on end and tilting it back towards the motor in a t altered kind of way. ive got a old dodge truck grill housing that would not look to bad but would have to cut and splice it.
something from nothing?????????/

Use as large as 4 core rad you can get in the shroud. More than 4 will restrict airflow. Use as large and as many bladed fan you can get in there. Overdrive the waterpump by using a smaller diameter pulley. Looks funky but make a fan shroud to fit. Space the fan about 1 1/2" from the rad and the shroud to fit about 2/3rds over the fan. Use a weak (about 20 percent for anticorrosion) antifreeze mix with a transfer enhancer. Don't forget it in the fall. Make a coolant recovery system that will hold about 3 quarts.

thanks for the advise 61 i really had thought about keeping the stock fan as its a huge direct drive unit looks like it would keep a grain truck cool.
incredible!
