    Forged crankshaft pully

I have a forged crankshaft in my 283. I am being told that engine and crank is internally balanced so did not have a harmonic balancer. How do I mount the crankshaft pully to that crank without a harmonic balancer? Or is there a zero balance harmonic balancer that goes on the crank just to bolt the pulley too?

Thanks for your time and help.

Thank you for your answer HWorrell, now for me to elaborate a bit. There does not seem to be a bolt hole for the harmonic balancer. Is it supposed to be pressed onto the crank? If so, whats the best way to press it on without the use of a sledgehammer?

    Thanks for your time.

The old ones are a press on, I guess the best way to do it would be to stand the engine up in a press with the back of the crank supported and simply press it on, Let me tell ya there has been lots of em hammered on,(I know the engine builders are grimacing) but ya take a big risk of killing the thrust bearing, If no other option is available ya could stand the block up on the floor so the back of the crank was supported and then use your BFH to hammer it on...

Or u could try putting the crank in a cold environment and the pulley in a warmer one for a few hours till they slide together. If it dont fit force it. Right?
