    Steering Column Removal

    G'day
I am working on a 1958 chev apache and have run into a problem with the steering column. I have removed the wheel, the dash bolts the floor gromet and can't find anything else to unbolt.
The column tapers in at the steering box and looks as though it would just slide out, but after soaking the joint repeatedly with penetrating fluid there is still no movement at all. I may be missing something obvious hear but if anyone can help me it would be great.

can you see any movement on the splined steering shaft coupling when you pull on it near the box, there is a collar with a nut and bolt which keeps it tight,,??
It may just be seized up,, after all it's a 1958 thats a long time to be tight.
My memory tells me they where a relatively simple affair ( first truck my dad bought me was a 58 GMC fleetside, many years ago),,,i'm thinking the shaft is just siezed.
