6 volt alternator??
I know..."Why not just convert to 12 volt?" Well, I have put way too much money into this car to buy all the new stuff that I will need.
Anyway, I am looking for a 6 volt alternator to replace my generator and my voltage regulator. I am searching for one that will work for my Chevy 216. The guys at the auto parts store said maybe a VW alt. but I thought that I would throw it out here and find out what the great minds of this club hot rod think. I know that I will run into a adaptor situation, I am just looking for the one that is the closest. Can anyone help?1950 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe

There's no big advantage to 12 volt if all the 6 volt components are working well. You can get a 6v alternator and mounting brackets here:
Quality Power (626)358-0763 or qualitypower1@aol.com
And check out the guys that pioneered 6v alternators :

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
