whats not an option ? experiance ? ok...alright.. I can only give you the answer you want....go to a trade school, & youll learn everything there is to know in a short amount of time, & you will immediatly make a fortune.

you need to know the basics first.....than think about hot rod school. you wouldnt walk into carpentry school not knowing what end to hold the hammer right ?
once I had basic knowledge of how a car works & how to work on them, + welding & fabricating skills, maybe some body & paint skills, electrical systems etc., many of these you can get in basic auto classes...than once you have an understanding of the basics, maybe learn more hot rod stuff.

MGMan , this question has been asked so many times and there are many replys from all of us on schools that are out there to learn the trade.
Not trying to sound like an ass here but do a search on this site , you most likely find all your answers to your questions.
Damn Dave , Business is so slow here in KS will you hire me ? I only have 30 years experience, that ought to be worth at least 3 bucks an hour
Heck I 'll even throw in my 37 that you can finish for me ......

3 bucks an hour !!!!!! Heck, that's twice what I pay myself !!!!! But hey, when it's time to spray the HOK cobalt blue on the Ranchero, I sure might be looking for a bit of labor swap out !!!! I've just got to quit taking on so much new work, I wanna retire some day, like a couple years ago !!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Do what many of us did. Con your way into a shop and start by sweeping the floors, emptying the trash, ask questions, act interested and you my find that there is someone out there will let you learn. Be humble and listening is a great attribute. Maaco would be a good start, make some cash get dirty, find out if you got what it takes to be a hammer slinging, bondo buddy. Tech school for the most part will give you just enough info to be dangerous. I stopped hiring guys out of tech school because of the I know it all syndrome and started looking for someone interested in learning with passion. I have helped many a youngin learn this art. Us who have been slinging mud for 30+ years can tell you it is a very demanding love affair.I'll get off of my soap box now if I can find someone to give me a hand. MF

Wyotech sucks! A waste of money as far as I am concerned!
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
