Can you say 48?
Yeah the title makes no sense but heh, hopefully eye catching. Anyways... I have been doing some thinking and price adding on my 48. You all know I want to make a beautiful pro street car out of it with a nice Chevy Big block, etc. Well after seeing that in order to get what I pictured I don't think it will happen unless I have over 15 grand. Reason I say this is because... I have NOTHING to the car, just a frame and a body with the fenders, doors and hood. NO bolts, NOTHING. So to save money I think I may just go with airbag system since I have no suspension yet anyways and a couple hundred more bucks may be worth it, put a 383 in it or this 250 block I am getting for free for now (and still look for a big block and build it on the side time, etc), chop the top, and keep it at that. Color I don't know yet. I want the air bags to crusie it around to look like a tail dragger, etc and then change it up a bit by leveling it out once in a while, etc. What I am figuring here (still haven't made up my mind) is to see how much money I will save to do this instead of using a built 496, a new rear frame and rear end from currie, custom motorplates and cutting my perfectly good firewall out nd moving the engine back, new floors all the way back, roll cage, etc.
Now of course I will probably save thousands but we'll see. I think this is a good idea. I am only almost 18 and have YEARS and YEARS ahead of me to build a 30,000 dollar car or drag car. Maybe I can get a old truck like a 60's and make it a full out drag truck or something later on.
But yeah I have this 66 that I want to put about 3 grand into and say it's completely finished and then start the 48 this summer and get it done my next winter or something.
What do you guys think on this? I know you might be thinking do what I want but kind of hard when I like both and dont know what I want. Also I used to want the pro street more and yeah in ways it looks sweet and different but now I also like the other idea just as much almost.
Thanks for the oppinions, info, help, ideas, etc etc

Forty Eight... Did I say it right, Shawn? Email me a pic of that large barge, I'm sure I've got some ideas someplace in this foggy old brain of mine that haven't been used yet. Pro Street is very kewl on fat fendered cars. Had a '46 Ford I was going to Pro Street a few years back but some guy wanted it way more than I did so I took his money, he took my car and we wer both happy.!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave, mine is in a million pieces. Body not even on the frame at the moment and frame not even together. No bolts remember heh? haha. Any idea's would be great. I would really love the pro street thing but no way I have the money for it now or the knowledge to do it all myself and I don't have even more money to have someone else do anything or help either.
But if you can get any pics and ideas and send them to me then that would be great!
Thanks!www.streamlineautocare.com
