    Hubs Stick Out.

Ok well as some of you may know, this week comming up I am getting my American Racing wheels for my truck... 16X7 in front and 17X8 in rear. Here is my problem. I have disk brakes in the front and the front end of the truck is a 76 F100 truck front end but they are all the same since it's all still a Twin I Beam but the only thing different is that there is disk brakes on it now. I was looking at the hubs in the front and they stick out through the center whole on the rims about 3 inches...
Will American Racing wheels with the center caps work on this?

    Thanks!

Also if it's not asking for too much, can anyone photoshop some American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels on my truck with the pic I will put on here? That would be great that way I can really see what it will look like. I think it will look pretty good and even better when I lower the truck. I wanted to go with something a bit old school (not like 30's-50's old school but you know what I mean) like Cragars but Cragars with some more style to em.

    Thanks again!

Denny, thanks for that bit of info I never knew that! I am bringing the truck to a wheel shop so they can help me on the size tires to get to fill up the rear wheel wells. The wheels right now is so far in (came like this stock on these trucks) that the inside rubs the wheel well in the bed and then outside of it to the lip of the side of the bed there is about 6 inches of space there. I wan't the backspacing on the front to be in way more because if I lower the truck the tires will rub a bunch and I can't have that. I am getting 17's in the back and 16's in front so that it will look more filled in and give it a lower look since I can't lower the front but only 3 inches. At first I was going to go with 15's, then said no 15 in front 16 out back but now on the 17's in back because I looked through TONS of mags and found a lot of cars with 15 in front and then 17 in back. I went to a car show here a few days ago and found some trucks like mine with 15 in front and they just don't look good, they look too tiny for such a big truck so 16 looks like it fills it in better. Also I am thinking something like 265/60's in rear and 205/60s in front.. I don't wan't really wide in front but don't want a real skinny pro street tire in front either.
Everyone is trying to talk me into a pro street style truck but they are not realizing that this is my everyday driver I need to go for handling and comfort on this thing!

Yeah I don't know, 50's are too rubber band look to me, especially on this big of a truck. Also I just looked for my size rims, etc and American Racing has a thing on their site where I picked my year truck and what kind of truck it is, etc and everything BUT Torq Thrusts showed up. They don't have anything in 5 1/2 bolt pattern so now I am worried. If they don't have them then I am going to be really pissed because I am SET on these rims and they are just what I wan't. I don't know what I am going to do now. I can't find a contact phone number now either, only a darn email address.

Yeah Sidewall height is what I am talking about. I dont mean on your truck or nothing, I am just saying on mine. If I had really low profile tires on mine it wouldn't look right, it would look like rubber bands. I was thinking maybe 65 in the back and 60 in the front of mine and even 60 are kind of lower profile sidewall for my truck but we'll see I guess.
Also thanks a lot for the photoshop. I just found a think that American Racing has on their site JUST NOW when you sent that and they have a 65 Ford and I can put the Torq Thrust II's on it and lower it and I did that and made the color with a flat black like I would use with the semi gloss on the JD paint and it looks pretty good. Only thing is they have the lowering with the back lower than the front so only thing I would do is have a nice rake to it with the front a bit lower about 2 inches lower than the back. Would 60 in front and 65 in back make the backs look like there is a bit more sidewall height to them you think or should I keep 60 all the way around?

Not sure if anyone here can tell me the answer to this but, if I did this thing with the JD semi black, would the body lines show good like that front sweet on the front fender and the rear or would it not show much at all? I thought I'd ask that while I was thinking about it, I was going to ask it a few weeks back and kept forgetting.

Thanks for the site Denny. I will look into that. All I really want is the rear the have a taller sidewall than the front instead of a low profile. Can you mix match like 60's series in front and then 65 in rear?

Ok I see what you mean. Well I know how I wan't the backspacing set up, etc and I am going to go with a little skinnier than I have now in the front. I have 235 in the front right now but I wan't to go the most at 225/60. With the rims, I am going to have the shop look at that and have them measure it up and see what they think. Oh and I measured that hub and without the cap to cover the bearing and bolt with the castle nut on the hub, it's 2 inches long (that's how far it sticks out) but with the cap it's a little over 3 inches.
I emailed American Racing and hopefully they get back to me by Monday, Tuesday the latest, and see what they said about the hub and the center hole size, etc.

Yes, you can mix aspect ratios front and rear.

Ok thanks Tech! I think I may do that. I haven't seen a pic of a car that I know for sure has 60 on front and 65 in back so not too sure how it looks...
