side markers
hey this may be a dumb question but i have a 1976 chevy c10 that i am restoring and i was wondering if it is legal to shave the side marker lights off each fender??

There isn't a law in South Dakota that requires them.. I've filled them on quite a few trucks and cars. It's one of them things that nobody ever notices when they're gone, they just notice when they don't work!! If you are ever over on my side of the state, look me up.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I filled them on an 82 and no one ever said anything. Aint SD wonderful.

in va. you dont have to have them. if the socket is there it has to burn. cut the socket off it will be ok. back up lights is the same way.Last edited by lt1s10; 06-16-2005 at 05:59 AM.

Side marker lights are a federal requirement. But I've never heard of anyone being pulled over for removing them. These are another instance of a safety requirement that was unnecessary.---Tom
